god they’d all be really fucking badass girls and they’d have like harpie lady decks and amazonian warrior decks and there’d be like the one girl that’s small and has like fairies and shit in her deck, but she also has a fucking DRAGON and she has magic cards that give her fairies like poison fangs and claws and shit

and the main character would be this fantastic chick who rides a motorcycle everywhere (she can play cardgames on them if she wants i guess) and she has an angsty backstory, but she doesn’t let it get her down. she’s on a quest to find her mother, who disappeared looking for some rare magic card or something, and she has a hapless father who just wants to support her and be there for her and they have lunch every tuesday and he comments that tattoos are not very becoming. and she pays for lunch and kisses his cheek and tells him she loves him, then she goes and kicks some ass or whatever.

there would be like a recurring gang of dudes who go up against a recurring gang of ladies and the ladies are always trying to get the main character to join them, but she’s all like I DUEL ALONE I DON’T NEED FRIENDS. 

spoiler alert: she’s like anzu/tea’s granddaughter or something. and her grandmother is always making friendship speeches and main character (her name can be Yukiko because WE MUST HAVE CONSISTENT “YU’S”) is just like LAY OFF GRAMMA I HAVE TO GO KICK ASS. 

and yukiko would always kick ass, but she has to learn that sometimes it’s okay to ask for help. yugi can be in the show and he’s there to help her out sometimes, but he’s an old dude running a game shop and he just thinks the whole thing is constantly funny. yukiko thinks he’s kind of crazy because he gives her a kuriboh card for her birthday and she’s like UNCLE YUGI (because that’s what she calls him the end) THIS CARD IS WORTHLESS. and he’s all mock-offended but then he’s like “AHH YUKIKO-CHAN YOU MUST TRUST ME”

and yukiko becomes friends with like joey/jou’s granddaughter but it’s a weird friendship because jou’s granddaughter has LITERALLY NO INTEREST IN DUELING. like she thinks it is SO STUPID she doesn’t even want to deal with it. but she thinks yukiko is a total badass and also she has a crush on her. they’re also friends with kaiba’s granddaughter who is definitely really awesome and uses her money to buy them dessert all the time and steal gadgets from her grandfather’s house. and yugi and kaiba always have to take them back and scold them and make them sweep the game shop or something while they drink tea and bicker about new duel monster rules or something.

ahhh and the rival! okay so the rival has to have a butterfly motif, i accept nothing else. i like the name Rin. we’ll call her Rin. and rin and yukiko have this weird mutual respect for one another, but rin also hates yukiko for reasons yukiko doesn’t know. and it tears rin up because she thought she’d meet yukiko and hate her completely, but she struggles with the fact that yukiko is crazy talented, but also very noble, even if she’s super hot-headed and hates to lose. yugi often comments that yukiko reminds him of an old friend (SOBBING OMG YUGI TALKS ABOUT THE PHARAOH LIKE HE MOVED AWAY OR SOMETHING). 

rin hates yukiko because their mother’s had a rivalry, but it was really friendly and rin always misinterpreted it because she misses her mother so much. eventually, she and yukiko become friends and they face some new, wicked evil with all their other girls and jou’s granddaughter learns to duel and it turns out she never needed to LEARN she just thought it was boring. 

basically it’s like set between gx and 5d’s i guess but it’s all about dueling ladies.

And also some ladies don’t need to use decks based on female monsters and it would be great. also, i accept no other headcanon than yukiko being somehow given her motorcycle by old honda who has a grandson who is nerdy and shy and fixes it up for her sometimes.

also i want a really sleeping beauty Maleficent-esque villain who wants to take over domino city for some unspecified reason.

and if it’s set somewhere b/w gx and 5d’s i want a young!doctor fudo coming in somewhere. maybe he’s some quiet guy who’s in yukiko’s class at school but we don’t know it’s him because his hair is different, iono.

there should also be asuka tenjoin teaching in yukiko’s school because even though she loves the academy it was too stuffy for her. she could also say that yukiko reminds her of someone she knew but she “hasn’t seen him in a long time, i wonder how he’s doing.” and then i will cry real tears.

also i want yukiko to have a bamf little sister who is a bamf and an excellent duelist and completely sure of herself, so much so that she sometimes gives advice to her older sister.

better yet, we should have otogi’s granddaughter who is younger than yukiko and the rest of the gang (because otogi took a longer time settling down than the others) who is also a complete bamf and good with dice and a little hell raiser.

and maybe we meet old!shizuka who is a complete and total bamf now after doing a 180 from her younger years, i don’t know, maybe she channels lin bei fong and is chief of the domino police and she and her force are really involved in the antics of yukiko and the gang because really no law enforcement could have figured card games would play so heavily in the fate of the city and the world, but they do.

there should be a scene where anzu makes yukiko sit down to tea with her and bakura and they chat and it’s funny or touching and both. and old mai would be great. she would take yukiko shopping and “YOUR SKIRT IS TOO LONG, YUKIKO.” and then “STOP, AUNT MAI. I DON’T WANT A MICRO-MINI.”

also there should be a girl/guy from duel academy who is a pompous little shit who is like “i went to a school for dueling, i am better than you” but yukiko takes him down a few notches and they form a vitriolic friendship.

spoiler alert for a book you should have already read: when yukiko finds her mom it should be like Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech and even though yukiko has believed for all this time that her mother is alive she is really dead and yukiko just stands in front of her grave in france or hong kong or somewhere else, disbelieving everything, not crying, just shocked. but then she learns about all the good her mother has done and everyone who loved her and still loves her and she slowly accepts losing her mother. and then she realizes she needs to tell the people she loves she actually freaking loves them and then she sorta lets down her defenses and her yakama is stronger than ever.

I WANT THIS SO BAD. Must pray to the spinoff gods.
