I had known that Katsuya Jounouchi’s English name was based off this american civil war general, but what I didn’t know:

- Jou’s birthday is the same date that Joseph Wheeler died (25 January)

- Jou’s hometown in YGOTAS, and at least the source of his accent in the 4Kids dubbed version, pays homage to the place where Joseph Wheeler died: Brooklyn, NY.
